Situation in Northern Myanmar
Flash News - 27 October 2016

Over the last few days, isolated attacks have occurred in the most Northern part of the Rakhine State near the Bangladesh border. This region is far from the famous touristic sites of the Rakhine State such as:  Mrauk U, Sittwe and Ngapali Beach and we would like to inform you that travelling in these regions continues to be very safe. The ancient temples of Mrauk U are certainly worth visiting and remain to be very peaceful and safe.

More and more destinations within Myanmar are opening up for visits to foreign tourists so there are now plenty of places to discover during the coming months.

To stay informed of the situation, please refer to the website of the Myanmar Ministry of Hotels and Tourism. It will provide you with all the information needed concerning security in different regions of the country.
