Table of Contents

Located in North Gyeongsang province, the Historic Villages of Hahoe and Yangdong, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010, are two villages that offer a glimpse of South Korea’s colorful history.

Surrounded by forested mountains and overlooking a river, fields and rice paddies, Hahoe and Yangdong are the two most representative historic clan villages of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), which ruled the Korean peninsula for over 500 years

Today, folk performances such as the Hahoe Mask Dance and fireworks are still held here, making these villages an ideal place to immerse yourself in the traditional heritage of South Korea.
