Vietnam has approved a three-phase pilot plan to welcome foreign travelers with vaccine passports to five destinations without quarantine. From November 2021, the first phase will allow international tourists to visit five pilot destinations, including Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, and Quang Ninh.
Travelers must show proof of full vaccination or COVID-19 recovery, as well as a negative result obtained within the previous 72 hours.
In the second phase, from January 2022, visitors can travel to other different localities under certain conditions. The country plans to fully open in the last phase.
Vietnam also currently accepts vaccine passports from 72 countries. It is also discussing with 80 other countries on mutual recognition of vaccine passports.
